In this video I will explain how the Content page in CMS Commander works and in particular how you can use it to bulk edit articles on your websites.

When you go to the Content page you will find a list of recent posts loaded from one of your websites.

You can use the navigation here to browse through the list…
or change the number of articles displayed per page.
Each post has links next to it, which you can use to edit or delete it. You cal also select any number of articles and delete all of them under “Bulk Actions”.

Like on all CMS Commander pages you can load a different site by clicking the small “Load” icon in the “Your Sites” list.

At the top of the page you can find a search field which you can use to search all your sites for specific content. Simply enter a search term, select the websites you want to search on in the list and press “Search”.
This is useful if you want to bulk edit content about a specific topic and not from a specific site.

The bulk edit form is right below the search form, click the “Show / Hide” link to display it.

Bulk edits are always applied to all the articles you have checked in the list below, so before using it you need to load the correct articles you want to work on – either by searching or by loading one of your sites.

Currently CMS Commander offers you five different bulk edit operations.

The bottom three are all relatively straight forward. They allow you to…
– Change the post status of the articles
– add more tags
– and add more categories or replace the current ones.

The first option, “Change Text”, can replace any text, phrase or code in all of the articles with another. Simply enter what you want to have replaced with what.

This can be useful for replacing affiliate IDs, removing old images, inserting long tail keywords and much more.

Finally, “Insert Links” can convert any keyword you enter to a text link. Simply enter the target keyword or phrase and the URL of your link.

With the percentage field here you can reduce the amount of the keywords that will be replaced and with the checkboxes you can make the resulting links open in a new window or add the nofollow tag to them.

After checking all the bulk actions you want to perform and all the articles you want to perform them on simply click the “Bulk Edit” button.
