The CMS Commander journey began more than ten years ago, with its launch in late 2012. Since then it has served thousands of users to help them manage upwards of 100,000 different WordPress sites. It has created security backups of websites as well as remote new posts in the millions and so much more.

Sadly this journey is coming to an end and CMS Commander will be shut down permanently during the coming year. This step has unfortunately become necessary due to various personal reasons, a shift in focus and changing market conditions.

This announcement, being made almost a full year ahead of the shutdown, is meant to give you ample time to wind down your usage of CMS Commander and find a suitable alternative service as a replacement. Please refer to the timeline below for more details.

Permanent Shut Down Timeline

• August 31st, 2025: Closed registration to new users
• Q3 2026 December 31st, 2025: No longer accepting payments, renewals or account upgrades
• Q3 2026: Final shut down

Please note the timeline has been adjusted once: We initially announced that no account payments and upgrades would be possible starting December 31st, 2025. Due to organizational changes this has been extended and payments are now possible until the final service shutdown in Q3, 2026.
