CMS Commander 2.07 Released With Copy Plugin Settings Feature

Copy WordPress plugin settings in CMS Commander

The redesigned “Plugins” screen.

22.4.2014 – Slightly too late for Easter arrives the new version 2.07 of CMS Commander. The biggest addition in this update affects the recently redesigned “Plugins” page: It now holds the possibility to copy plugin settings to any number of blogs for some of the most popular WordPress plugins. That allows you to save lots of time, for example by quickly transferring settings to a new blog and syncing a plugin configuration between your whole site network. Go here to see which plugins are supported and how you can copy their settings in your CMS Commander account.

Please note that this feature is not available for all plugins. Creating a way to copy settings for all plugins is unfortunately impossible because there is no standardized way in which the 30,000+ plugins for WordPress save their settings.

Because of that all plugins for which settings can be copied are added to CMS Commander manually. Starting now with a handful of the most popular ones more and more will be added over time. Be sure to post your suggestions of plugins for which you would love to copy settings in the support forum!

Other Changes And Improvements

  • The new “re-add website” feature makes it easier to reconnect a blog to CMS Commander. This can be necessary for example if the CMS Commander client plugin was deactivated on your site temporarily. You can find the feature to re-add sites on your “Dashboard” after clicking on the “Your Sites” link.
  • Removing websites from CMS Commander was made easier: A site you choose to remove is now deleted from all backup tasks and the client plugin is deactivated automatically.
  • The sites in your “Dashboard” can now be ordered alphabetically by clicking on the underlined “Websites” header.
  • The CMS Commander client plugin was updated with several performance improvements and a few small bugfixes. To install the new version 2.07 to all your blogs please go to your “Dashboard“.
