APIs (short for “Application programming interface”) are a service used by many big websites that allows users like you to plug into their application and access and use their content. Using APIs to retrieve and post content like CMS Commander does it is completely legal – you will however need a user account for most of the APIs in order to access them and other restrictions like usage limits might apply.
